New log decoration is vetoed!

So, second mummy recently gave mummy a ceramic toadstool for Txomin and Arthur’s house, which looks great and gives a bit of colour – especially now that the grass has dried due to the sun and heat. In fact, the house is looking a bit drab at the moment and the sun shade covering a third of it really doesn’t help. There are not many plants and though there are some interesting features, mummy has been thinking for some time it could be nice to spruce it up a bit.

This weekend in London therefore, you can imagine how excited mummy got when she saw just the thing that would make a wonderful addition to the terrace as perhaps it would be a bit of a squeeze for the tortoise house... “There” she said excitedly, “that would look amazing don’t you think?” Loving husband’s gaze moved towards said feature and quickly back to mummy, “you’re joking right?!” Well, of course mummy was joking, there was no way it would fit in her case either as hand luggage or checked-in, but she thought it was worth a try J and if they were to find something similar closer to home and in carrying distance – loving husband did a grand job carrying the last log for 2 km on his shoulder – then she would be a very happy bunny indeed.

In all seriousness, over the next few weeks mummy is planning on trying to plant a few new bits, hoping that the boys don’t immediately eat them, as well as looking at other ways in making Txomin and Arthur’s house more interesting and pleasing on the eye. When the weather cools a bit, at least taking the sun shade off will make a big difference. She’ll have to put her thinking cap on and do some more research on vegetation that looks nice but Russian tortoises don’t actually like – it could be a struggle as the boys seem to like eating pretty much everything – perhaps a few more ceramic pieces – even a gnome – watch this space...
