Bergara

Christmas in the Aranguren Smedley household is normally spent in Bergara, Gipuzkoa, where they stay with loving husband’s parents. Everyone puts on weight during the holidays and the tortoises are no different. Lovely daughter’s cousins, twin boys just 3 months older than her, love feeding them, kind father-in-law loves feeding them and pretty much anyone visiting, loves feeding them. The boys of course, have a whale of a time.

The balcony where the boys sleep is quite tiny and there is nothing really to explore. Therefore, a trip to Bergara means trips to the park. Lovely daughter and her cousins love taking Txomin and Arthur there to walk amongst the trees and plants and everyone in the park likes to come and say hello and ask after them. It’s quite a sight to see two small tortoises enjoying the fresh air and eating the weeds – though they do shift pretty quickly though, so you can’t take your eyes off them.

After all the over feeding, they, just like mummy, definitely need the exercise!
